FYI

Just a quick note to say the dates that were scheduled for the trial this month have been canceled.....or postponed.

The defense is calling an expert witness to the stand to talk about the difference of driving under the influence of meth with or without a prescription.

This is funny because you can't get a prescription for meth because it's illegal.  So it should be entertaining.

Will keep you updated on when it gets rescheduled.

And more importantly I will post details about the I Heart Colum 5k hopefully next week!

Happy Weekend!

  1. There is a prescription meth. It doesn't make it right though, it sounds like an attorney or someone is just stalling. Prescription or not if its in your system DON'T DRIVE

  4. I agree attorneys are corrupt they help the person paying the bill even if they committed a heinous crime. I live in Utah also and was involved in an accident several years ago by a guy that was drunk and then he showed up to court drunk too. The prominent lawyer I used back then has flipped sides and now helps get the people with the duis out of trouble. I guess money talks and attorneys don't care. Good luck on your case when it finally gets there.

  8. Kelly, I have been reading your blog since I heard of your accident. I'm so sorry this happened to your sweet little family, it's so unfair and heart breaking. I'm saddened to hear the trial has been postponed but I'm not at all surprised. Sadly our court system has been designed to protect the criminal, they seem to have more rights and importance then the victims and it's total B.S. I had a loved one that was killed by a thoughtless, selfish, low life piece of shit as well in 1995. Our trial dates were postponed several times he even failed to show up to one of them. In the end we were crushed and devastated by the out come, the justice system is a joke! (sorry! I hate to sound negative) I pray that you have a better out come and justice is served for Colum. Although there is NOT a punishment harsh enough for what you have been through and continue to go through. Thank you for sharing your journey with us, I think of your family often. I hope you and Ryan continue to heal physically, emotional and spiritually, I hope you get your 2 pink lines, I hope you do wright a book, I hope this trial goes as well as possible and you get justice and closure. Sending thoughts of strength and love, Tina

  9. I can't believe there's people that defend low life losers that use drugs and drive and kill innocent babies. I understand SOMEBODY has to do it but how do they sleep at night? I hope and pray your family gets the justice they deserve.

  10. I chuckled when I read driving under the influence with a prescription of meth... Really? What planet is that lawyer living on?!! And who is an expert of prescription meth?!!! This is an embarrassment to the legal system and absolutely ridiculous torture for you! Hugs to you and your family. Prayers of love & patience for your heart during this time.
